ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no particular entry requirements in order to participate in The Cut Ultra Marathon, aside from meeting the following age requirements:

Minimum age 12 on the day of the event for the full-size CUT.
Runners 12-15 years of age will have a mandatory Cut at 21km*
The Cut will be capped at 180 runners. The Junior Cut capped at 40 runners.
JUNIOR CUT: Minimum age of 10, maximum age of 16 years as of race day. Junior event will run 500m laps, with a minimum of 2k and maximum of 5km.

*Regardless of finishing position on that lap.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit enough to complete the event and that you do not have any illness that will hinder your ability to complete the event. It is your responsibility to monitor your health and condition during the event and to withdraw from the event if you are no longer fit enough to continue.

At the time of registration, you will be required to read and agree to a Participant Waiver. Please ensure you read this document carefully prior to agreeing to its terms.

The organisers of the event; Trail Trips & Events, have public liability insurance cover. This does not include personal accident insurance for competitors. We recommend that you arrange your own personal accident insurance and ambulance cover before participating in the Event to cover any unforeseen personal costs you may incur due to ambulance trips, medical expenses or time off work due to injuries sustained whilst participating in the Event.

A purchase is now possible as part of the registration process to protect from unforeseen reasons to withdraw after entering.

In the event that the Event course is, in the opinion of the event organisers, unsafe (e.g. heavy rain, high winds, bushfires, "acts of god" etc), or at the direction of the QFRS, Qld Police, Gold Coast City Council, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service or the Qld Department of Health or in accordance with any Queensland Government directives, or any other relevant authority, organisers may be required to postpone or cancel the event.

Every attempt will be made to reschedule. Should a participant be unable to make the rescheduled date or no suitable date be available (due to venue unavailability, clashes with other events, land owner changes, etc); then all participants shall automatically be re-allocated to the Virtual option AND refunded 25% of their entry. Race gifts will be mailed to competitors.

75% refund if withdrawing before 4 weeks prior to event*

60% refund if withdrawing between 4 weeks and 10 days prior to event*

50% refund if withdrawing between 9days and 2days prior to event*

No refunds inside last 2 days.

Note: Race Roster fees (registration site) and any personalised collateral (e.g. shirts, bibs) will also be deducted. In the case of personalised items, these will be mailed to you.

Transfers to different sub-event (change of distance)or another person: Follow the guideline below if you'd like to transfer entries to another person. Please note; the exchange of any funds remains between the two parties.

Refund Policy

OPTION 1) ENTRY TRANSFER a) TRANSFER TO NEW PARTICIPANT You can choose to transfer your entry to another participant for a $10 fee (payable by the recipient - plus whatever the agreed figure is that they pay you). After October 15th, this fee increases to $15. Entry transfers to new participants will be accepted until 1:59pm, Saturday October 28th. How do I transfer my registration? New simpler process that YOU can complete! b) DISTANCE TRANSFER This covers an existing participant transferring to a different distance to which you are currently registered. Note that if you wish to move from short course → long course you will be charged the additional entry fee; there is no fee refund when transferring from long → short. There is no additional charge for this transfer. Entry transfers to a new distance for existing registered participants can be completed up until 1:59pm, Saturday October 28th. OPTION 2) ENTRY FEE REFUND You can choose to take a refund of: 75% of entry fee returned for withdrawals up to 4 weeks prior to the event 60% of entry fee returned for withdrawals between 2 and 4 weeks prior to the event 50% of entry fee returned for withdrawals between 48 hours and 2 weeks prior to the event No refunds if withdrawing less than 48 hours prior to the event.
