RACE START TIMES (local time):
7.00am - 11.11km* individual race AND Mateship Relay** (lead off runner to run 6.31km leg)
 

7.35am - 5km
 

8.45am - 2.5km

*The 11.11km acknowledging Remembrance Day itself; which commemorates the signing of the Armistice to end World War One at the 11th hour, on the 11th day of the 11th month. Note: A timing mat will be located at the 10km mark for you to compare your time with traditional 10k road events

**Our MATESHIP RELAY will consist of teams of 3 runners with DIVISIONS for mixed, all-male and all-female teams.

Three legs: 6.31km (this runner will lead-off), and 2 x 2.4km*.

*2.4km is the standard distance for physical testing in the Armed Forces. ​

Runner 1 will complete their 6.31km at Salk Oval and exchange with Runner 2. 

Runner 2 will run to the Dune Café (2.4km) and exchange with Runner 3.

Runner 3 will run to the finish at the Currumbin RSL.

A courtesy bus will be available to transport Runner 3 to Dune Cafe for their start and Runner 2 back to the finish from the Dune Cafe. It is expected of teams that Runner 2 can walk to their starting exchange point at Salk Oval and Runner 1 can walk back from that exchange point.

Qualified first aid shall be on hand for anything minor or more serious and will be located adjacent to the finish chute. A first aid attendant will also be stationed near Currumbin Creek Northside Beach.

Emergency contact numbers and any relevant medical matters should be completed on the back of your race bibs.

There shall be aid stations located:

1. Near the Dune Café at the far end of the run course. This aid station will have water and sports drink available.

2. In the Thrower Drive Boat Ramp car park. This aid station will have water only

3. Near Duringan St-Woodgee St intersection west of Currumbin Alley. This aid station will have water only.

4. In the race precinct for pre- and post-run needs, this aid station will have water and sports drinks available.

There will be no provision for bag drop at this event.

All competitors will receive a unique ‘RED POPPY’ medal as part of their entry.

Competitors can also purchase a technical running event t-shirt during registration.

* $5 Extra on race day 

In the event that the Event course is, in the opinion of the event organisers, unsafe (e.g. heavy rain, high winds, bushfires, "acts of god" etc), or at the direction of the Gold Coast City Council, the Qld Department of Health or in accordance with any Queensland Government directives, or any other relevant authority, organisers may be required to postpone or cancel the event.

Every attempt will be made to reschedule. Should a participant be unable to make the rescheduled date or no suitable date be available (due to venue unavailability, clashes with other events, land owner changes, etc); then all participants shall automatically be re-allocated to the Virtual option. Finisher medals will be mailed to competitors. 

Trophies and Prizes

Prizes shall be awarded to the first three male and female placegetters in 11.11km, 5km and Junior 2.5km event distances.

Prizes shall be awarded to the first team in each of the MATESHIP MEDLEY RELAY event; Open Male, Open Female and Open Mixed (each gender needs to be represented).
 

11.11km run - Male and Female

1st - $250 Westfield voucher

2nd - $50 club voucher and Astra Lumina family pass

3rd - $50 Currumbin RSL Club voucher

1st place only in each division - Astra Lumina family pass and $50 each Dune Cafe voucher x 3

Age category results will be published for each event, but there will be no prizes for age category placegetters.
